AARP to Host Consumer University: Financial Literacy 101 at Tamarack in Beckley

AARP West Virginia and several local agencies are teaming up to host Consumer University: Financial Literacy 101 August 13, at the Tamarack Conference Center in Beckley.
Consumer University: Financial Literacy 101 is a one-day educational forum. The day begins with an opening session at 9:30 a.m. and concludes with an ice cream social and door prizes by 3 p.m. The program will include sessions on Social Security benefits, how to protect your identity, the new AARP Money Management Program, Benefits QuickLink, tax benefits available to seniors and how to avoid investment fraud.
Participants will have an opportunity to discuss financial security issues in a community conversation setting during the event. Lunch will be provided.
Area residents and AARP members are invited to participate in this important financial education program. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
