Divided We Fail Rolls into Roanoke June 6-8

Continuing its efforts to improve health care and long-term financial security, AARP’s national Divided We Fail initiative is rolling into Roanoke June 6-8 with events combining fun events with timely information on these two important family issues.

Don’t miss meeting Champ—the Divided We Fail national mascot. Also, Roanoke is an important stop for AARP Virginia’s Divided We Fail van, which is traveling the state with information on how you can make a difference right where you live.

Friday, June 6, 2008
Champ Visits Market Square
, 8:00 am. to 2:00 p.m.—Get a free Divided We Fail market bag and helpful information about health care and financial security.

AARP Day at the Salem Avalanche, 7:00 p.m.
Champ will oversee throwing out the first pitch at the Salem Avalanche Game. Free Divided We Fail and Avalanche towels for the first 1,000 fans. Lewis-Gale Medical Center Field at Salem Memorial Baseball Stadium, 1004 Texas Street, Salem 24153.

Saturday June 7, 2008 
Steamin’ Summer Shrimp Fest 2008, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Bring your camera and take a picture with Champ the Divided We Fail mascot. Also, this is a great chance to visit the Divided We Fail van. Salem Civic Center, 1001 Roanoke Road, Salem 24153.
