Each year the AARP Andrus Award for Community Service honors one individual from each state as well as the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. Established in 2002 in honor of AARP founder, Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus, the award recognizes outstanding AARP volunteers, members and others who make a powerful difference in their communities in ways that support AARP’s mission, vision, and strategic direction and who inspire others to volunteer through their actions. We encourage nominations from every area of the state and from all organizations. Nominees need not be a member of AARP.

The deadline for nominations is June 2, 2008. You may obtain the form and submit your nomination electronically by going to: http://www.aarp.org/about_aarp/community_service/andrus_award_winners.html and clicking on “Use this form to nominate” found at the bottom of the first paragraph. Submissions can also be emailed to utaarp@aarp.org or faxed to 801-561-2209, or sent by mail to the AARP Utah state office, 6975 Union Park Center, Ste 320, Midvale, UT 84047. If you have any questions about the nomination process, please contact Carolyn Hunter at 866-448-3616.
