The calendar says it's almost Spring and with that, soon the leaves will be on the trees, the grass will be turning green and AARP South Dakota will be back on the road offering a multitude of programs all across our great state.  We've got a full calendar this year of activities ranging from financial management seminars to 50th Anniversary birthday parties to candidate forums all wrapped up under the banner of the "Divided We Fail" (DWF) campaign.  To date, thousands of South Dakotans have become involved in the DWF campaign in a variety of ways:  signing pledges, sharing stories, attending lobby days, and even going to neighboring states to be involved in the presidential primary process.

In the next several months, AARP members and the general public will be invited to a number of events, which will highlight the core issues of the DWF campaign:  health care and long term financial security.  There will indeed be something for everyone to get involved in the campaign and perhaps most importantly, everyone will have a chance to have their voice heard not only by AARP but by all the candidates running for elected office in 2008.  Whether you’ve been a long-time member of AARP or someone who’s concerned about the important issues affecting all Americans, Divided We Fail events will be coming to a town near you and we look forward to your involvement in the largest campaign in AARP’s 50 year history.

So, don’t just, as they say, sit back, relax and enjoy the flight.  Get up, get informed and get involved.  And, let’s all remember the motto of this campaign which bears repeating, “Divided We Fail but together we can do anything.”
