AARP Driver Safety Program
For 27 years, the AARP Driver Safety program has helped millions of drivers remain safe on the road. The eight hour classroom refresher course is taught by volunteers in two four-hour sessions.
Topics include:
- negotiating busy intersections,
- minimizing blind spots,
- maintaining proper following distance,
- the effects of medication on driving, and
- properly using safety belts, air bags, and anti-lock brakes.

You Though geared towards drivers age 50 and over, the AARP Driver Safety Program is open to people of all ages. AARP membership is not required. There is a course fee of $10.

Take the Course Online!
There is also another option for taking the AARP Driver Safety Program - at your convenience, and in your own home. On June 30, AARP will launch an online course, that will include the same valuable information and strategies for safe driving as the classroom program.
