By: States: Ohio | Source: AARP.org | Date Posted:
In celebration of AARP’s 50th anniversary, all Ohio members are invited to share their insights and experiences through an original essay of no more than 1,500 words. One winner and one runner-up will be selected in two categories: Age 50-65 and Age 65+. The contest deadline is July 11, 2008. No Purchase Necessary.
All winners will be recognized through the AARP Ohio Web page and publications. Winners also will be invited to attend as special guests at our volunteer recognition event in October. As an essay winner you will be asked to present your essay as part of the celebration. Winners will be notified in writing not later than August 22, 2008.
Entries must be original work not previously published or currently submitted for publication elsewhere. Submission for the contest constitutes the author’s permission to publish. Winning entries become the property of AARP Ohio and may be published in AARP affiliated publication.
A panel of staff and volunteer judges will evaluate all entries and make the final selections. Submissions will be evaluated on their originality and clarity. Entries will be judged without knowing the authors’ identities.
Please include the following with your essay entry: your name, address, telephone number and email address (if applicable), and a biography of 50 words or less.
You can e-mail your essay to ohaarp@aarp.org (please put “50th Anniversary Essay” in the subject line), or submit your entry by mail to: 50th Anniversary Essays, AARP Ohio, 17 S. High St., Suite 800, Columbus, OH 43215.
You will receive confirmation that your entry was received.
