Diana D. Hatch, State President
"Dee" Hatch of Raleigh brings a wealth of media and public relations experience to her position. She worked in corporate public relations for Fortune 500 companies and was a reporter, feature writer and editor for several daily and weekly newspapers, including the Syracuse Post Standard, the Burlington Free Press and the Elmira Advertiser. She also served as Director of Public Relations for WCNY-TV/FM, the public TV and radio outlet in Syracuse. After she moved to Raleigh, she became Director of Communications for UNC-TV, North Carolina's 11-station public television network.
Audrey Bailey
Bailey is Assistant to the President for Public Information at the North Carolina Community College System. A Raleigh resident, she has a rich background in television and public relations.
Karen Gottovi
Gottovi is a former state legislator and former director of the North Carolina Division of Aging and Adult Services from Raleigh. She has chaired the New Hanover Board of Commissioners and served on the Coastal Resources Commission.
Bill Miller
Miller, a retired cartographer and manufacturing supervisor, is active in the community life of his adopted home town, Edenton. He teaches classes at the College of the Albemarle and serves on AARP’s state Advocacy Council.
Betty Rising
Rising, from Lumberton, is a former Area Agency on Aging administrator and social worker. She serves on the Governor’s Advisory Council on Aging and is treasurer of North Carolina Senior Games, Inc.
Dwight Story
Story is a former president of the North Carolina Retired School Personnel. A resident of Thomasville, he currently serves as the liaison between NCRSP and AARP North Carolina and is a volunteer AARP Health Specialist.
Dr. Althea Taylor-Jones
Dr. Jones is Associate Professor and Gerontology Program Coordinator at Winston-Salem State University and is active as Program Chairperson of the Winston-Salem AARP Chapter.
