Durham Regional Hospital is included among the 2007 AARP Best Employers for Workers Over 50. The following highlights clearly validate the hospital's inclusion on the list of fifty outstanding firms and organizations selected for the honor.
The hospital designed its "Return to Work Program" for the retiree nurse community but it is also applicable to other areas of the hospital. The program offers financial preparedness for the retiree, full retirement benefit continuation, flexible hours, competitive pay, ergonomically sensitive programs, mentoring opportunities, and continued professional contributions.
