AARP Indiana's 900,000 members are looking for their volunteer leader

We are currently accepting applications for State President, AARP's top volunteer position at the state level. A visionary leader—with a passion for issues that affect people as they age—is needed to motivate our members, volunteers, the public and elected officials.
The ideal candidate:
- Has a record of achievement in either community service or their professional careers
- Has knowledge and a passion for at least one of AARP's priority issues (Economic Security, Health, and Livable Communities) and a willingness to take a leadership role on that issue
- Is willing to take a leadership role in strengthening our volunteer corps
- Has built relationships with key Indiana leaders in government and the public and private sectors
- Is able to manage, motivate and challenge our volunteer Executive Council
- Is a strong public speaker
- Is capable of developing a strong working partnership with the state director.
Time commitment is flexible and varies (minimum of 20 hours per month). Post involves some travel, both in-state and out-of-state, for advocacy and training. Reimbursements for expenses are available.
