Illinois Home Care Council

The Illinois HomeCare Council (IHCC) website serves as a link to home care and hospice agencies in Illinois.  The agencies provide Medicare home health and therapy, private pay home care and hospice care.

Family Caregiver Alliance

Family Caregiver Alliance website is a state-by-state resource intended to help you locate government, nonprofit, and private programs serving seniors or disabled persons in your area. The resource is for family caregivers, as well as for older or disabled adults living at home or in a residential facility.

Illinois CaresRx

The Illinois Cares Rx website serves as a link to state prescription drug assistance to people with and without Medicare. The two prescription drug benefits programs provided in Illinois are:  Illinois CaresRx Plus and Illinois CaresRx Basic.

Illinois Retired Teachers Association (IRTA)

The purpose of IRTA is to work to maintain and improve benefits for annuitants of the Teachers’ Retirement System (TRS); promote education and the professional, social and economic status of all members; and work in cooperation with other organizations to obtain these goals.

Citizens Utility Board

The Citizens Utility Board (CUB) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that was formed to represent the interests of residential utility customers across Illinois.  Since its inception in 1984, CUB has been doing just that—working for lower rates and better service from the state’s investor-owned electric, gas and telephone companies. Over the last 25 years, CUB has saved consumers more than $10 billion by blocking rate hikes and winning consumer refunds.

Visit the Illinois General Assembly website to find legislative information for Illinois.  Among other tools, you can use the site to track legislation, find your legislator, search for Illinois laws, and read legislative transcripts.

Citizens’ Utility Board – Stop Ameren!

AARP and other advocacy groups are opposing Ameren’s request for a $226 million gas and electric rate hike. Just months after slapping consumers with a $162 million increase, Ameren is back at the table asking consumers for more. With more than $600 million in 2008 profits and Illinois consumers struggling to pay the bills, the Illinois Commerce Commission should NOT approve the rate increase proposal.
