The Divided We Fail (DWF) movement hit the ground running in Illinois at the launch of statewide efforts in Chicago Nov. 13. At the event, leaders in the business, labor, and higher education community, joined AARP in delivering a strong message to lawmakers and the community - health care and financial security go deeper than a stump speech and the public deserves action on the issues now.
Clad in red Divided We Fail t-shirts, hundreds of people converged on the University of Illinois – Chicago in support of the movement.
AARP, The Business Roundtable and SEIU launched DWF to raise the voices of millions of Americans who believe health care and lifetime financial security are the most pressing domestic issues in the nation. DWF is a national movement that aims to put health care and financial security at the forefront of the political debate, demanding action and answers from presidential candidates and elected officials on the two most pressing domestic issues facing our nation.
Thousands of individuals from across Illinois have already signed the DWF pledge - pledging to vote for candidates who will deliver action on health care and financial security issues.
