Concerned about the Donut Hole and Prescription Drug Affordability?
By: State: District of Columbia | Source: AARP.org
We all know that our health care system costs too much, wastes too much and leaves too many without care. With one in three Americans saying a family member has skipped pills, and nearly 20 percent of Medicare Part D beneficiaries delaying or not filling a prescription because of costs, we can’t afford to wait. The time to improve health care is NOW!
Please join AARP District of Columbia and District experts for the Health Action Now! DC Opinion Leaders Forum, a targeted discussion of one of AARP’s top priorities for any health care reform legislation: Lowering Prescription Drug Costs by closing the Medicare Part D “doughnut hole” and making lower-cost generics more widely available.
Hear from AARP and local experts how skyrocketing prescription drug costs affect DC residents and where to go from here. Find out where the issue stands in national health care reform legislation. And don’t just listen, join the conversation. You can do that by participating in Q&A with panelists and by sharing your questions— and personal stories—ahead of time at dcaarp@aarp.org. Please use the headline “Questions for Health Care Forum.”
The session is on Tuesday, September 29 from 9am—11:00am at the AARP Brickfield Center, 601 E Street NW, Washington, DC 20049. Admission is free, but seating is limited. AARP will provide a continental breakfast from 9—9:30am. Registration is required by September 24. Call 202-434-7715.
