Summer Fun & Fitness at the Denver Botanic Gardens
By: States: Colorado | Source: AARP.org
AARP Colorado is pleased to announce our presenting sponsorship of the 2008 Fitness Walks and T’ai Chi—also known as “Summer Tuesdays”—at the Denver Botanic Gardens (DBG). Every Tuesday morning from June 3 through August 26, the Gardens will be open for free admission for AARP and DBG members between 7:00–9:00 a.m. (Others will be asked for a $5.00 donation on the “honor system.”)
Come and enjoy a quiet stroll through the Gardens’ 23 resplendent acres in the cool of the summer morning, meet a friend for a catch-up chat on a bench in the Japanese Garden, or join the T’ai Chi project team for a free T’ai Chi class from 7:15–8:15 a.m.
This ninth annual event will also feature free refreshments courtesy of a group of metro area AARP chapters who will start your morning with a nice hot cup of coffee or tea.
And don’t forget to stop by the AARP Colorado exhibit table for a conversation with our knowledgeable volunteers and staff and pick up an assortment of excellent, free consumer-oriented publications on a variety of issues of concern to 50+ persons and their families. This summer our exhibit will have a special focus on Divided We Fail, our non-partisan voter education initiative created to amplify the voices of millions of Americans who believe that health care and lifetime financial security are the most pressing domestic issues facing our nation. We invite you to stop by the exhibit and learn how you can make a difference by becoming a Divided We Fail voter!
Whether you are retired or have to be at work by 9:00 a.m., make these “Summer Tuesdays” a part of your summer fun!
