Someone, maybe you, is caring for a person with a serious condition and needs some support.
Friends, family and neighbors who ask if the caregiver "needs anything" really do want to be of assistance, they just don't know what, how, or when to help.
TeamCaring.org is a proactive way to add structure and organization that assists, rather than complicates, caregiving.
How It Works
Once you've formed a care circle it is time to get organized. That is where TeamCaring.org comes in.
Go to TeamCaring.org and choose the "Want To Start Your Own Caring Team?"
Making It Happen
TeamCaring.org will ask you a few questions, then set up a Web site for your team. You even get to pick your team's name. They will email you explaining how to get to your Web site.
Once you log on, go to the Profile tab and enter information on the care recipient, and on your team.
Next go to the Members tab and enter everyone on the team. Don't forget out of town relatives and friends. You can add additional people at any time.
Create User IDs for anyone who is going to be a member of the team. Just let them know their individual User ID and Password.
Fill out the Calendar and the Help Wanted sections. The Help Wanted section lists all the open requests. Everyone can view either section to see where help is needed. By clicking on the item they can volunteer for the assignment.
Staying Connected
You can make some or all the people on your team Captains, which allows them to add or change calendar items. Or, one person can be the Captain and be the person responsible for changes.
The Phone Book section will show everyone on your team and their contact information in one convenient place.
Everyone on the team can use the Message Board to send updates, changes, and kudos to assist the team in creating this online community.
The Send Email section allows anyone in the team to easily email one, several or all of the team members.
TeamCaring.org is a web-based program of Colorado Hands In Action. However, you and your care team can access your site from anywhere in the country.
We are one of a network of hundreds of Faith In Action programs across the country. If you are caring for someone in another state you can find volunteer resources online or calling (877) 324-8411.
