As gasoline, food and health care costs continue to rise, Americans are looking for solutions to the ever-growing financial challenges being faced today and in the future. On Thursday, Aug. 21, AARP CEO Bill Novelli will join with civic and business leaders to discuss how to address these challenges in a one-night-only, exclusive in-theatre event. Theatres across America will become community town halls as experts engage in a 45-minute live panel discussion following the viewing of the documentary “I.O.U.S.A.”
“I.O.U.S.A.” tells the story of America’s key deficits and the implications for the nation and U.S. citizens. Using interviews, archival footage and economic data, “I.O.U.S.A.” presents a vivid profile of America’s current financial status. The conclusion offers suggestions for how best to ensure a fiscally sound nation for future generations. The “I.O.U.S.A.” documentary will open in theatres in 10 cities on Aug. 22.
In addition to Novelli, panelists include Warren Buffett, CEO of Berkshire Hathaway; William Niskanen, chairman of the CATO Institute; Pete Peterson, senior chairman of The Blackstone Group and chairman of the Peter G. Peterson Foundation; and Dave Walker, president and CEO of the Peter G. Peterson Foundation and former U.S. Comptroller General.
