AARP will host a community forum in Prescott, Arizona, to shed light on the crucial issues of health care and financial security.  The forum, an effort to educate and promote discussion on these issues, is part of Divided We Fail, an initiative that seeks effective government action on health and financial security issues and represents millions of Americans who make up a diverse cross-section of the country.

The community forum will be held August 14 at 10 a.m. at Yavapai College in Prescott.  The event is free and open to the public and is designed to promote discussion around health care and financial security issues by having residents share their thoughts and experiences on these vital issues.

"Americans are facing increasing challenges because of the rising cost of health care and in achieving their own financial security," said AARP Arizona State Director David Mitchell.  "It's important that we stand together and send a strong message to our elected officials that we need change.  With elections later this year, we have a great opportunity to make our voices heard."

Divided We Fail will be working throughout 2008 and beyond to end the political gridlock and push for quality, affordable health care and life-time financial security. Community forums are one aspect of the effort as Divided We Fail will continue to actively engage elected officials, the media, business leaders, and the American public across the country.

The Divided We Fail community forum in Prescott will be held at Yavapai College at 1100 E. Sheldon (Building 19) beginning at 10 a.m.

For more information about the forum, please call the AARP State Office at (602) 262-5180.
