Become an Arkansas Advocacy Volunteer
By: State: Arkansas | Source: AARP.org
AARP Arkansas is searching for volunteer advocates who can represent AARP legislative issues to their own Legislators.
Become part of a major expansion of our grassroots effort in Arkansas. It won't take much of your time and yet, you can make a meaningful difference.
All you have to do is Stay Informed and Stay in Touch. In other words:
- Stay Informed by participating in conference calls and reading email notices.
- Stay in Touch with your State and Federal legislators by your calling, emailing, or chatting with them when they are back in their district.
This is your chance to become part of the legislative process if:
- You are comfortable with email and online communications
- You are comfortable talking to your elected officials
- You are willing to advocate for AARP issues
You are definitely the right person for the job if:
- You already have a personal relationship with your elected officials
- You possess friendly persuasion and communication skills
These characteristics are not absolutely necessary. We will provide support and training.
