By: State: Arkansas | Source: AARP.org
Want to know how the national health care reform changes could affect you and your finances? Need to know more about how to save, manage and protect your money during the recession? Tune in to the live, call-in program which will air on August 12th at 7. -9 p.m. on your AETN station. AARP Arkansas has collaborated with the Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN) to produce and broadcast the two-hour television show featuring experts on health care reform and how it could affect the finances of Arkansans.
“Health care and financial security are closely related,” said Maria Reynolds-Diaz, AARP Arkansas state director. “Too many people fear they are just a health care crisis away from bankruptcy,” Diaz added. Two Arkansans told U.S. Senator Mark Pryor their personal experiences with the high cost of health care. Watch their stories on the AARP Arkansas Community Web site.
Ask your questions during the live, call-in AETN show by calling 1-800-662-2386. Either a panel of experts or an expert who can answer your questions on the phone will be available.
Expert panelists may include staff from the Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP), the Office of the Arkansas Attorney General, the Arkansas Securities Commission and the Arkansas Department of Human Services. Hank Klein, AARP volunteer and former head of the Arkansas Federal Credit Union, and Herb Sanderson, AARP staff person and former head of the Arkansas Department of Aging and Adult Services, may also be available to answer questions.
AETN, AARP Arkansas and several state agencies collaborated to hold a free, three hour public forum on health care and financial security on July 27th at the AETN studios in Conway. For copies of the July 27th forum or the August 12th program, contact AETN at 1-800-662-2386.
