Ian Patton: Policy Expert, Research and Development of Auto-enrolment UK Department for Work and Pensions

Ian joined the Civil Service in 1987 after working in the voluntary sector. He has worked in a number of finance and project posts in the Department for Work and Pensions, introducing Europe's largest integrated personnel, payroll and pensions system.

Ian joined the Pensions Group in 1999 where he has since managed the development of a UK Combined Pension Forecasting service and a national initiative providing UK Job Seekers with information about employer pension provision. He is currently managing policy and research into maximising workplace pension scheme membership.

Ian lives in Newcastle upon Tyne where he is married with one son.
