AARP Livable Communities

Measuring Livability Webinar and Twitter Chat

Join PPI’s Livable Communities team for a webinar and a twitter chat to learn more about our work measuring community livability. We will highlight two research papers: Is This a Good Place to Live? Measuring Community Quality of Life for All Ages and What is Livable? Community Preferences of Older Adults. We will also discuss the lessons learned from efforts to measure livability and the results from our national survey on community preferences. PPI’s research on livability and the preferences of older adults has been vital to the development of the Livability Index, a web-based tool that will incorporate mapping technology, preference survey results, quantitative measures and public policies to assess the livability of communities. The discussion will also feature preliminary designs for the Livability Index.
