Ryan Wilson is a strategic policy advisor with AARP's Public Policy Institute, where he specializes in analyzing consumer issues relating to insurance and investments. He has been with AARP since 2007. As part of his work, Mr. Wilson serves on the Consumer Advisory Committee of the Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Commission (IIPRC). The IIPRC sets product standards for life and long-term care insurance products in states that are members. He has been a featured speaker and panelist at meetings of SIFMA, ACLI, IMSA, ICAE, NCSL and NCOIL, among others.
Prior to joining AARP, Mr. Wilson spent nine years working for the Maryland General Assembly's Department of Legislative Services, where he specialized in financial services, property and consumer protection issues. While with the Maryland legislature, he was active in the National Conference of State Legislatures, serving as Staff Chair for the Financial Services Committee. He has a JD from the University of Oregon, MPA from San Francisco State University and a BA from San Francisco State University.
