Long-Term Care Costs

2005 AARP Puerto Rico Social Impact Survey

Research Report

April 2006

This Summer 2005 multi-topic survey of Puerto Rico residents age 50 and older examines their experiences, opinions and concerns about the cost and affordability of the prescription drugs they take, the utilities they use, the livability of their communities, home modification, property tax burdens and long-term care – and the impact of these factors upon their lives.

Telephone interviews of 1,010 age 50+ Puerto Rico residents, belonging to all socioeconomic levels and residing throughout the Island, were conducted by Consultec Inc. from June 27th through July 17th, 2005. The sample was stratified along the eight data collection fieldwork regions into which Consultec Inc. divides the Island of Puerto Rico for research purposes.

Further information about the survey may be obtained by contacting Katherine Bridges of AARP Knowledge Management at 207-899-2094.
