An examination of Medicare beneficiaries' ability to use and understand comparative information, conducted for AARP's Public Policy Institute by Judith H. Hibbard, Dr.P.H., of the University of Oregon and Paul Slovic and colleagues from Decision Research. Although preliminary, the findings indicate that, while Medicare beneficiaries differ enormously in their ability to use comparative information, this is a difficult task for most. (38 pages)
