August 2002
The findings from this survey show overwhelmingly strong support for a new telemarketing law in Michigan that would give residents the option of placing their names and phone numbers on a "do not call" list. The survey also explores Michigan residents'
- Impressions of telemarketing calls
- Support for Michigan telemarketing laws to include a "do not call" list
- Probability of putting their name on a "do not call" list

For this survey, 600 registered Michigan voters age 18 and older were interviewed by EPIC/MRA, an independent Michigan-based research and consulting firm that was commissioned by AARP to include questions about telemarketing in its March 2001 omnibus poll. The report was prepared by Jennifer H. Sauer of AARP Knowledge Management. (6 pages)
