Iris Krasnow's interest in the difficult relationships that mothers have with their adult daughters started with her own experience. “I Am My Mother’s Daughter” explores the difficulties that kept Krasnow and her mom apart, including geography, her mother’s outlook as a Holocaust survivor, and her mom’s increasing dementia as she aged.
Krasnow moves from the specifics of her own story, and that of many other women she talked with, to arrive at some general suggestions. The headline? Seize the day, before it's too late.
[first broadcast in July, 2007]
