Welcome to AARP Michigan. We are dedicated to serving our 1.5 million members who call Michigan home, and advocating on behalf of them, their families and neighbors. We are making a real difference in people's lives, and we take pride in that. Thanks to the dedication and hard work of our volunteers, we have "The Power to Make It Better." in our Great Lakes state.
We face many challenges this year, but the opportunities are great, as well. AARP Michigan has an ambitious agenda in this coming year.
Our goals include:
- Providing leadership in the ongoing effort to reform the state ' s system of long-term care delivery.
- Pursuing prescription drug affordability at both the state and Federal levels.
- Supporting senior-sensitive housing and mobility options at the community level in as many as six targeted communities.
- Advancing affordable health care coverage for the uninsured.
- Supporting and creating employment opportunities for mature workers.
