This AARP Public Policy Institute fact sheet highlights the long-term unemployment experiences of older jobseekers during and since the Great Recession. Duration of unemployment and long-term unemployment soared for all unemployed workers. Older workers, however, have typically experienced longer bouts of unemployment than their younger counterparts, a gap that continues.
