In 2009, the Supreme Court issued a ruling that made it more difficult for employees to prove they are victims of discrimination based on age.
The controversial 5-4 ruling stunned many in the civil rights community and legislation has been introduced in Congress to restore the burden of proof in age discrimination cases to where it was before the Supreme Court decision.
Jack Gross was a central figure in the case, and recently came to Washington to support the proposed legislation. He took time out from his Capitol Hill visits to sit down with Mike Cuthbert to discuss his own case and the fallout from the Court’s decision.
