Read the Candidates' Positions on Medicare, Social Security

AARP has released an online Voters’ Guide so you can find out where the candidates stand on Medicare, Social Security, and financial security.

The “You’ve Earned a Say: Vote for Retirement Security” 2012 Voters’ Guides provide direct quotes by candidates detailing their plans for and positions on Medicare, Social Security, and financial security.

The guide poses three main questions:

  • How would you protect Social Security for today’s seniors and strengthen it for future generations?
  • How would you put Medicare on stronger financial ground and protect today’s seniors and future retirees from the burden of rising health costs?
  • How would you help Americans build a financial nest egg for their retirement?

The online version of the Voters’ Guide also includes the positions of U.S. Senate and U.S. Representative candidates. The Voters’ Guide, developed to provide non-partisan information to voters on issues that are important to them and their families, offers an opportunity to compare and contrast candidates’ views.

Using the Voters’ Guide is as simple as providing your address, city and zip code. You will be provided with your Congressional District. Then you will be able to read the positions of Presidential, U.S. Senate and U.S. Representative Candidates.

The Voters’ Guide also provides contact information for all candidates as well as the opportunity to contact the Presidential campaigns with comments or questions.
