Do you have a family member or friend who requires your care from time to time? Have you needed to find services in Delaware to help them? Well, now there is good news for you that will make your search for information easier.
At the conclusion of Delaware’s last legislative session, the State passed HB 351 to create an Aging and Disability Resource Center, making use of federal funds in order to support older Delawareans and adults with physical disabilities.
This new resource is up and running and available for Delawareans throughout the state to provide increased access to services.
The establishment of the call center is a major benchmark in the ADRC project, funded by the Administration. The new call center system will enable the state’s Division of Services for the Aging and Individuals with Physical Disabilities (DSAAPD) staff to better assist callers by connecting them with outside resources when needed. The system has a number of other features, such as data tracking, to make the system run smoothly. The system will also allow follow-up to ensure the caller has received the assistance they needed.
Future plans for the center include an online searchable database of services and a web portal for making referrals to the ADRC.
