Join AARP Oregon and Elders in Action on April 7 for the Portland Mayoral Candidate Forum and Community Conversation when the candidates talk about their views on Age Friendly Cities. The three leading candidates in the race for mayor of Portland will address issues of aging and livable communities. The event will be held at the DoubleTree Hotel in Portland.

The city of Portland is a pioneer in the WHO’s Global Network of Age Friendly Cities and became one of the first nine cities to join the Network. And, April 7th is the World Health Day, as designated by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the international communities will focus on aging and health issues.

KGW-TV Anchor and Straight Talk host, Laural Porter will moderate the forum that will feature mayoral candidates Eileen Brady, Charlie Hales and Jefferson Smith. The topic of the forum is “Building a Community for All Ages,” and is part of a larger set of activities that day that aim to explore potential directions for creating and sustaining a Portland that is friendly to those of all ages and abilities. … Back to Article
