Being diagnosed with breast cancer is bad enough, but when Brenda Jones saw the standard-issue hospital gown she'd have to wear through a series of radiation treatments, she "lost it." Jones was determined to make her treatment more bearable by making a comfortable, colorful gown, even though she didn't know how to sew. A friend taught her, and soon Jones' robe was in demand from other patients. With good souls who donated cheerful fabric and even sewing machines, Jones launched Hug Wraps, a nonprofit that makes bright, comfortable gowns for breast cancer patients, as well as pillows and toys for children with cancer. … Back to Article
