Electric bill sky high? You’re not alone. AARP South Dakota recently held a telephone townhall on the issue of utilities. During the call, many participants relayed their struggles with increasing utility costs while living on a fixed income. Many of those who responded indicated affording their utility bill was a minor or major concern.

In 2010 AARP members fought unfair utility rate increases in states across the nation, helping to reduce proposed rate hikes by at least $3 billion. Join AARP South Dakota as we work to improve affordability and service reliability for your friends and neighbors.
