In a special legislative session this month, lawmakers are considering a bill to establish a state health insurance exchange. As part of the federal Affordable Care Act, the exchange is expected to expand insurance options and make it easier for consumers to compare insurance plans. AARP represented consumers in discussions with legislators as the bill was being drafted.
