What a workout with those hills! We have historic walking tours in St Petersburg which are sometimes free, but ours are on the flats.

Tuesday night is movie night for me and my group of 5 friends. We see a movie at Cheap Flicks for $3. We bring any size container which they fill up for $1. Most of the movies we want to see get there eventually - we just have to be patient.

I sign up for free walking tours around San Francisco through the public library. The guides are very well trained and knowledgeable, the tours last from 1-1/2 to 2 hours and I have photographed most of San Francisco through the tours plus I get added steps to my pedometer.

What a deal!

RE: CHICAGO BOTANIC GAREDEN; FOR FREE

The Chicago Botanic Garden is a 385 acre wonder of foliage and flowers. Just north of Chicago, the Chicago Botanic Garden displays and maintains 27 different gardens. From the Japanese garden to the English and Train garden, it is a beautiful and tranquil environment. Admission is free, though there is a $20.00 charge for parking, but my husband and I went to our Chicago Public Library and checked out a free pass! It is a great way to"not spend" a gorgeous fall day! Margaret Phelan

Like to walk the dog in the parks we have here in Westerville, Ohio. I have a fabulous view from my home with wildlife and birds so I take time to enjoy it as well. No cost and get exercise.

We have a great library here, with a system called OhioLink that can get a book from anywhere in Ohio, including the universities, so we have great access to books, cds. Currently I'm reading all the books written by Erle Stanley Gardner (there are a lot of them), chronologically. No cost.

We use indoor antennas to pick up hdtv signals, no cost.

I spend less on fun by going to see a movie when it comes to our discount Movie Theatre. I can go more often because I go there to see what I want.

Follow TV Show - TV Diner that rates local restaurants. At the end of each restaurant clip, buffet choices are usually announced. Best way to dine for less yet taste menu variety.

Whole Foods Market in the Boston area offers a buffet bar at $7.99 a pound. Many are delightful tastes from the Chef's catering case. Bringing the gourmet home.

I have free basic cable where I live, but I often check one of the paid sites to see if it's Free Cable Preview time. Currently I've had access to all our paid cable channels for free for about 3 weeks. Saves me a lot of money and I have tons of movies options.
