RE: Week 3 ?Old Duds? Savings Challenge ?ENTER HERE
When my second son was in High School Band, every year they would go to DisneyLand in Califoria to March down Main Street in "Disney Magic Music Days" We Had bake sales and car washes to raise money so the kids could go. One year we even had a booth at the mall wraping Christmas Presents. My son was able to go twice (1996 & 1997) and I was fourtunate enough to go the last time with him and his classmates, (shaparone of course) we had a ball! They (DisneyLand) gave us all t-shirts as memorabilia. I still have a green and a blue one. I wear them all summer long as they are x-large and very comfy! We go camping a lot and it is so worth it when I where it and my son is there!! It is so much fun to see him roll his eyes and give me the "mom" look. Cause he knows that I will tell everyone where I got it and why!!

Just before I left for college in 1969, my grandmother knitted a white poncho for me. I don't get to wear it as much as I would like, mainly because it is difficult to carry bags over my shoulders when I am wearing it and it seems that I always need to carry bags over my shoulders, but I still wear it occasionally and I still think it's beautiful. I also have a sweater coat that my grandmother knitted for herself and I don't know how old that is. It always makes me happy when people compliment me on the poncho or the sweater coat and I can tell them my grandmother made it. My husband and sons and I almost never buy clothing in a regular store. We do really well with rummage and yard sales and I still have clothing that I wore in my twenties and thirties.

Abt 40 yrs ago my mom sent me left over fabric from a dress she had made. After searching I finally found a blouse pattern for which I had just enuf fabric, so made it for myself. Still wear it, altho I weight probably 50#s more! Have worn several holes in it, but find from moms & my scraps to mend it. It's a very thin wool fabric that needs no ironing, even when just hung up to dry after regular washer washing. Wish my orig iPad had a camera for a picture. Perhaps I can add one later?

What do you mean by " keep the box checked if you want to be eligible for weekly and overall prizes in the Savings Challenge.?" I never see a box to check when I enter the saving tracker.

I have a North Face winter jacket that I bought on sale 20 some years ago. It's not the oldest piece of clothing I have, but it is my favorite. I have been wearing it every winter almost every time I go out. It is the perfect weight, length, style, etc. and obviously durable. It has been through many washings and the zipper still works. I intend to wear it for many more years. It is an example of buying quality and it will serve you well.
I LOVE your artwork, anneappraiser! I'll bet it brings a smile to your face every time you look at it. That shoe definitely has soul! And a SMILE...how cool is that?
