I just stumbled across this while trying to locate information. Wow, it definetly is a Classis. It just made me realize that I was 12 when I saw this film! I haven't been back in the ocean since, It's so Sad! I'm a Beach Lover and I live on the Central Coast of California and I still do not get into the ocean like I did before seeing this Mov ie!

When JAWS first came out I was much younger & a beach bunny after seeing JAWS even knowing it was a movie & not in Fla,I still was apprehensive about going in the ocean & as I got older felt much better with cement under my feet. the only real scary show I can think of that affected me as much was PSYCO.the orginal.

Jaws is a true classic…Old Man and the Sea with a Hollywood budget and less internal monologue- plus an exploding shark. Wonderful portrayals of memorable characters before they became cinematic clichés, and a driving a story that is both amusing and suspenseful throughout. Just imagine- it was made decades before CG effects! Sure, “Bruce” was terrifying, but Quint’s tale of the USS Indianapolis sent chills down my spine. Every time I go near the waterfront, I can’t help but think “we’re gonna need a bigger boat…”.

I still watch it every summer. It is still scary. I even saw a slot machine at the casino that was a JAWS game.
