Many caregivers continue to work outside the home while taking care of a loved one, but some find it difficult to balance the dual demands. How do you cope with being both an employee and a caregiver?
This is a first for me having never "talked" to anyone on the computer. I work outside the home in a small office and my husband has dementia. He quit driving about 6 mo. ago (not happily) so I take him to a local cafe where they know him and he eats breakfast. 45 min. later I pick him up and bring him to my work. He sweeps floors and cleans trash cans (something he's never done before but doesn't seem to mind) and the owners give him $5 per day which he greatly appreciates and feels like he's "working". I know where he is when he's with me. This is a benefit of a small town business.
