I am so weary and worn from all that caring for my elder. She took a fall last summer so instead of going to a hospital she decided to die at home. I have to accede to her darn demands. I'd usually snap when she requests arroz caldo (which is a Filipino rice dish), iced water, or a fixed bed. And what I mean by snap is that I'd scream, even silently!
I saw the Ad Council PSA on caregiving and found it so brilliant. It featured a man who has to deal with the paperwork for his mother's care, a woman in her car with her two fighting kids and her elder needing a doctor, and a woman dealing with the bills she has to pay for her mother's care. All of them screamed silently. Oh gosh - I can really relate to those actors. Their acting in the TV spot really reflects my life right now!
That PSA, which became one of my favorites very recently, prompted me to join the support group. I know that I'm not the only one dealing with this. Along with exercise and Oxycise! (which are breathing exercises that claim to burn fat but are something to calm my nerves as caregiver), I hope all that support can really help me.
