I agree that owning your own home business is the way to go right now for many people. Franchises are awesome, but often have too much overhead for many. I prefer to think in terms of "mini-franchises". A mini franchise has all the benefits of a full size one in terms of products, branding, marketing materials, training and support. Many have a very low fee for getting involved--usually in the $100 -$400 range--and can be worked out of ones home. There is a very large range of products and services that one can choose from, just like with a full-blown franchise business. There are also a variety of different business models including: direct sales, home parties, network marketing and a blending of these.
For many who are struggling meeting their bills or for those who want the satisfaction of earning some additional income or the creative enjoyment of a new endeavor, working from home is the place to look.
I agree working from home is the way to go for a lot of folks. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
