I have found invaluable information and special rates for single cruisers through Amber Blecker of CruiseOne, www.cruiseresource.com, with whom I've had interaction on Facebook. She travels alone herself to "test drive" before recommending. She is also informed about such things as what is required to be able to cruise with a therapy animal, etc. You may find her to be a very helpful resource.
Additionally, I booked through my local warehouse club vacation center a 10-day Royal Caribbean cruise on Rhapsody of the Seas from Sydney to Cairns, Australia, last December. For the inside cabin rate including single supplement that I was quoted by an online discount cruise vendor, I received an outside "double" cabin; air fare from the East Coast was included. The cruise was a tremendous success in my opinion. It does NOT matter if you cruise alone; Royal Caribbean's crew/staff are very friendly and helpful - in fact, I came to regard them more as friends than as staff. And, the dining room management will see that you are seated at a table with persons from differing backgrounds from all over the world - which was very interesting as well. I was seated with a couple from England, an older couple from Australia, and a younger couple - one-half of which was a "Russian mailorder bride." There are activities for every age range; you will NOT be disappointed.
