I just finished reading a wonderful book by Erin Morgenstern"Night Circus' about a magical circus that only opens at night.,with no advance advertising The story is about a compettion between 2 young magicians,Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood for this competion. I couldn't put this book down, its the author's debut novel. Another book I loved is "The Cat's Table" by Michael Ondaatje about 3 11yr old boys who are on a ship bound to England in the 1950's,the other passengers they meet. The author wrote,"The English Patient' which I liked too.
A friend recently gave me"Gone Girl' read 120pgs,couldn't get into it,didn't like the author's writing. I've read so many murder/mysterys over the yrs, they all seem to be the same after awhile. Anybody read these books? Sue
