It has been over a week since I have answered any posts, so I need to get on the ball again. The slowness of this site drives me crazy, so I avoid going into it.
I have been tackling magazines this past week and am almost through with the Devil in the White City, finally. It is amazing that fair ever got off the ground, they had so many problems.
I also finished the Danielle Steel book, The Wedding, I was reading. She sure knows human character and I think something can be learned from these people's problems, even though the stories can be fluff and they always involve wealthy people, which most of us aren't.
There is a new mystery series that is very enjoyable by Emilie Richards. It is about a minister's wife who manages to become involved in mysteries and is very fast-paced and often humorous. The first one was called Blessed is the Busybody (her). The stories remind my daughter and I of another series we loved by Jon Katz about The Suburban Housewife (who was the father of the house). They abruptly stopped when the author went a different direction. We were sure disappointed.
After Jon Katz finished his Suburban Detective series, his book topics have wondered all over the place... Sort of like an appliance with lots of bells and whistles that are mediocre in productivity.
I am really enjoying Rose Connors' Maximum Security about a defense attorney on Cape Cod. She has written only three mysteries with this lead character so far, but I have enjoyed all three very much.
