The DaVinci Code sure was an "eye opener" for me since I'd never read anything with that theme before!! I have "Angels and Demons" but haven't read it yet, but I have found, like in several messages here, that most people preferred the latter, so I do hope to get to that one day fairly soon (but have other books I want to read first, and my book reading time is severely limited).
As for John Grisham, I really liked his earliest books but lost interest in some more recent ones, but I do have most of them. What did you think of "The Summons?" Isn't that his new one??
I had never read anything like The DaVinci Code or Angels and Demons either. I myself preferred Angels and Demons. Like you my reading time is also limited. I wish I had more time but other things just get in the way. Things like life.
I thought "The Summons" took a long time to get to the point. I believe is newest book is "Playing for Pizza". Like you I liked his earlier books more. I did read "Bleachers" which was about a retired football coach who died. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It wasn't just about football but more about the love/hate relationship between the coach and his players.
