Do you ever feel like the walls are caving in. . .I mean it has been almost 8 years and I should be in control of things. But with schoo starting (I am raising a 14 year old grandson) and my work starting back (I work at a special ed school) and soccer I have no time to get my house cleaned. . .I am a clutter bug and I thought I would be able to get it cleared out during the summer but having to travel to Tennessee several times to try to help my sister with our mother who was sick (she is 84) nothing got done. Would love to pay someone to help but don't have the $$ to do that. I also try to take a vacation sometime after i work summer school but didn't happen this summer. I feel like everything is out of control and I can't even slow it down. Before you ask, did the counseling thing but my co-pay just went up and I can do more with that co-pay than that.
Sometimes I am tired of being the bologna in the sandwich of life. You know raising a child and caring for a parent!
What do you if you ever feel like this that doesn't take a lot of $$?
You know what, don't even worry about cleaning that house. Once a week you and your grandson do what has to be done and be done with it. I am sorry about your mother being sick but you did what you could to help and leave it at that for goodness sake you are raising another teenager. I don't have those issues, although my son and grandson just this past weekend came to stay with me for awhile. Not sure how long, he has his own business and with the economy the past year and raising his teenage son he is not financial sound right now. He is a hard worker but today that does'nt necessarily mean you will make it.
I think the suggestion of an employee assistance where you work is a great idea. I did counseling for two years and know what you mean about the money, mine is pretty tight, but it really helped a lot.
Just remember what is important is you, if you don't take care of yourself you won't be able to take care of anyone. I know that is easier said than done. Most of us don't have control of much of anything so just take it one day or hour at a time.
