I am a newbie to this group, to AARP, and to divorce. I am in the process now. We had been married 24 years and I am 51 years old.
It is very inspiring to read the comments and advise from this group. I am filled with hope after seeing so many others that have made it out the "other side" with such healthy attitudes.
I hope that I will join you soon. Right now, I don't know.
My worries are financial and being able to support myself. Also the loneliness. I miss having someone to talk to, to go to the movies with, to go exploring with. The loneliness is the worst.
I'm a newbie to this group, too.... I don't know what happened to the one I thought I was on before on the AARP website.
I've been divorced for 2 yrs now... after 33 years of marriage. Initially, I thought I would never get over the pain, loneliness, and financial worries a late-life divorce creates. I joined a DivorceCare group, and that helped some. I have also joined a Senior bowling group from the local senior center.I don't have any dates, but am gaining some friends... and that has helped a lot.
So- I've never heard of Rebuilders... how do you get more info about them?
