I have been a member of AARP for almost 8 years now and this blog caught my attention. The reasons are numerous and many but mainly because I have been married and divorced several times. I think some of you have failure to communicate difficulties and I often see this. I am friends with my last ex-spouse and also his new wife. It all depends on the individual but one can always turn what most consider a negative experience into a positive experience. I had the experience the first two times I was married of being too young to understand what I was really committing to and also having a child right away. Both major life responsibilities. I had my first child at 16 and refused to marry his father. I left my parents house and struck out on my own with my girlfriends. Everything turned out fine; we raised him, worked, all finished high school.
I certainly empathize with all of you men and women. I believe that your values and spiritual beliefs remain with you for life but change as your life changes. It also should not matter what gender couple you are. Now we hear all this hoopla in the media about same sex marriage and equal rights and so on. The right to be in love, married, religious, single, gay, straight, lesbian, transgender all are HUMAN rights. Its about love and freedom in your life not politics or someone else's control. I've had everything and nothing in my life as far as material things are concerned. Yet now where I find myself having some things but not everything I feel blessed. Yes blessed. I woke up this morning later than I planned but I did wake up. I'm alive, I'm healthy for the most part and God has smiled on me by giving me another day of life. Don't waste it by using all you energy negatively. Look for the good in things. Stop long enough to appreciate and thank whomever you believe in for giving it to you. As we walk through this time and in this universe, may we all seek to find our own peace. That is the most important thing one can do to have a happy heart and only then will the rest of it become reasonable and much more easy to manage. I wish all a Happy Easter. Blessed Be. Namaste.
