Yes, I know what you mean! Strangely, I ended up marrying a spaniard -- who speaks Italian. We haven't been together but we dream about retiring there someday. A simple house in the country....
Will you be going back any time soon?
Are you a reader? Have you enjoyed any historical fiction that takes you back in time to Italian cities? There was a great one about Florence that came out pretty recently -- but of course i cannot remember the name presently!
I don't know when I will next be able to return to Italy. My primary traveling companion is my sister and she has compiled a diverse list of places she wants to see while still able to travel. I have told others to remember me if they need a traveling companion for Italy.
I do read quite a bit, unfortunately not as much as when I was younger. I do like novels based on historical facts and times. The majority of them have been about the royal families of England. I have read a few about Italy. I love movies that have Italian locales. When I see a place that I have visited, it brings back pleasant memories. If you remember the title of the book about Florence, let me know please.
