I love Ramen noodles but just boiling them can get pretty boring. Yakisoba is Okinawan style stir fried noodles (something like chow mein).
If you want to try making it, here's all you need to do:
Open your favorite flavor Ramen pack and put the flavor pack aside.
Boil a pack of Ramen noodles for 2 mins. (don't cook them all the way).
Strain the noodles. Heat up a little fry pan with Pam or a little oil on med. high.
When the pan is heated dump the drained noodles in an empty the flavor pack all over it plus a 1/2 tsp. sugar (optiona)
Mix it all around until the seasoning is thoroughly spread around and some of the noodles are browned. It only thakes a few minutes.
You can add left over sliced meat or veggies of your choice (as when making fried rice).
If you want to use frozen veggies, put them in the bottom of the strainer before you drain the noodles. The hot water will thaw them a bit. Then you can dump them in the fry pan with the noodles and fry the whole bunch together.
Because I sometimes use the noodles for other dishes, I end up with extra flavor packs... which I use sometimes to flavor microwave popcorn. Just put in a fresh popped bag and shake it up. Add a little at a time to your taste.
I'm always amazed at the things you can do with those noodles. I love'em. -- Dianne
