Would like to get some input - either personal experience or just opinions. My husband of 34 years died in Aug, 2008. We had wonderful marriage and were looking forward to retiring to the home we purchased in FL 5 years ago. I'm at our FL home for the winter.
I recently discovered that the first "love of my life" is unattached and living in Melbourne, Australia. I'm not ready to even think about a "romance", but I think about emailing him, just to have someone to "chat" with. We were together in the late "60's to early 70's - a total of about 5 years. It was a happy carefree time in my life and right now with the lonliness of being without my husband, I find myself wanting to revisit the memories of that time.
What advice does anyone have about if I should/should not contact him?
When I re-read the postings of the past 10 months, it is amazing what a leap of faith can do to turn one's world upside down. In January, I nervously contacted my first love after a separation of 36 years.
We were married on November 24. I am blissfully happy!
